Blog challenge day 8: red-carpet glamour

The Venice Film Festival is happening right now, which means my Pinterest feed is filling up with pictures of all the best red carpet fashions. I live for this kind of thing. Back when I bought a lot of magazines (an addition I have mostly kicked now), I would always pick up the special editions after award season fashion or the Met Ball. I'd tear out pictures of the gowns I really loved--my mom and I made most of my homecoming and prom dresses by hand, and a few of them were inspired by red carpet fashions I'd seen in magazines. Anyway, if you also enjoy that kind of thing, here are couple of the fashion round-ups I've seen so far (posting links instead of the images themselves so I don't stumble into any copyright infringement territory):

A few of my favorites so far:

Isabeli Fontana - This combination of simple design + bright color = perfection

Carly Steel - The texture and pattern of this fabric are just beautiful.

Octavia Spencer - It can be tough to pull off a short dress on the red carpet, but Octavia does it really well here. This berry color is great on her. She has really helped put Tadashi Shoji on the map these past few years! She wore a Tadashi Shoji gown when she won her Oscar in 2012.

Honorable mentions:

Julianne Moore - Julianne Moore is one of my red carpet favorites because she has really cultivated a unique fashion identity for herself over the years. You may not always love what she shows up in, but you know it will be interesting. This is a lady who knows how to walk a red carpet.

Jane Fonda - Ms. Fonda has looked absolutely fierce in every one of her red-carpet looks from the festival. Can you believe this woman is 79 years old? Amazing.
